Fall Fishing

As a guide and professional angler, many people ask me what time of the year I like to fish for fun.  Well, November is THE month. Why? The fish are everywhere and so close to our dock.  This month will be some of the highest number of fish caught for the year.  Speckled trout, Redfish, and Black Drum are flooding the interior marshes, and our charter guests are the ones benefiting.  This is the first week of November and our customers have already caught over 1200 redfish and 760 speckled trout.  These numbers will only be limited by the amount of creel limits the state allows.  As a customer of Bayou Charters you know that we all work really hard to make sure that everything from catching the fish to explaining how to present your baits is an experience you will never forget!  If you are one that loves cooler weather, shorter boat rides, and some of the fastest action of the year you need to call or email Nicole now so you can get on a boat!

Remember, if you haven’t seen my new television show yet, just go to our website www.CoastalFishingConcepts.com and start watching.  The show has been a huge success and can’t wait for next season!

See y’all on the water……..

FISHING REPORT Hello, Bayou Charters Fans!!!  What a year so far! Because most of you follow us on Facebook , you have seen the outrageous fishing trips that we have been having since the beginning of the year.  Limits of redfish have been flying in on all boats super early everyday! Catching and releasing has been the name of the game, with 100’s of fish being caught everyday!  I have been in business 25 years, and I have never seen the redfishing anything like it is right now! For the speckled trout fishing, shrimp were late this year and just starting to hit the exterior bays and lakes, so we are beginning to catch trout pretty good.  With the Mississippi River at the highest recorded level, we are fighting the freshwater near the river. The great thing is that we can head east towards the Biloxi Marsh and Breton Sound, (which we normally fish later in the year), but the trout are waiting on the reefs and rigs! TRANSITION PERIOD The year is flying by faster and faster each year!  We are now moving into our late Summer transition period where our fish are going to start schooling up in certain areas and the fishing is going to begin to get even crazier than it has been.   As many of you know the Fall and Winter fishing in our area, east of the Mississippi, is the most productive in the world.   This is the time of year when duck hunting trips begin with Blast and Cast Packages , shorter boat rides to the fishing grounds, and ice chests of fish that are flowing over you should make sure to come and see us.   The transition period is one that the fish move daily due to the huge amounts of bait moving from the outer waters to the interior bays.  This movement to the interior bays allows us anglers to catch many species together at one fishing spot!  Yep, speckled trout, redfish, drum, flounder and largemouth bass can be caught on the same VersaMaxx cork presentation at the same fishing s
Hey everyone! I hope your New Year is going great!  As you know, February is now upon us and our fishing hasn't slowed down.  Redfish and Drum are filling the ice chests every trip.  As a matter of fact, we have limited or filled the chest till we couldn't close the lid in every January trip.  With the mild winter, the fish never really moved into the winter patterns.  If you like fishing during the Fall run, it has never stopped!!!  It has been so warm that Campo ’ s Marina still have live shrimp as of January 31st!! We have been fishing under a cork with live shrimp in shallow ponds. The fish are schooled in tight groups, so once we get on them, it is triples and quadruples till the limits are done.  Reds and Drum are filling the chests but the speckled trout are around too.  They have been coming off current passes and small lakes either using corks with shrimp or soft plastics retrieved slow and steady.   I am in the process of filming the 2nd season of my
